Handcrafted in Canada from pure Canadian maple wood, our musical spoons deliver rich, well-balanced tones while being easier to hold, control, and play than traditional loose metal spoons.
I bought some $10-20 wooden spoons from another vendor. The small ones were unresponsive and the medium were good enough to inspire me to go for your premium spoons. I love your asymmetrical design: wide enough to slip my hand inside the handles to make them rattle. I love the large pocket and like to use the crook of my bent leg as the anvil for an especially satisfying POCK sound. The single wood construction of fine timber is beautiful. Thanks for adding another instrument to my quiver of music tools.
I love these spoons and now have the full set. I teach music in a UK primary school, and the children absolutely love them too!
These spoons are great for players of all abilities and are very comfortable to use.
As a drummer, it only made sense to add a pair of Heritage Spoons to my musical arsenal.
These Old Fashioned / Large spoons are awesome! I love sitting on the front porch, playing around with them and making music… much to the delight (or absolute horror) of the neighborhood dogs.
Great quality, tons of fun, and apparently I’ve discovered a new way to annoy the neighbors. Highly recommend!
The musical spoons provide an intuitive introduction to percussion that can enhance many styles of music. The new musician naturally wants to learn more.
Hi, unfortunately, I’m in an assisted living facility and in a wheelchair. But Music helps me get through the day.
when this came in the mail. I showed it to our activities director and we have the great idea of getting a bunch of percussion instruments and playing along with some of the live music we have here once or twice a week
I live in Wisconsin and a group of campers put together a crowd interactive karaoke/instrument “band” at our campground known as the Mucky Pucky Boyz. We have a lead singer, a tambourine player, some banjos and a guitar,, a washboard player, a fiddle, a washtub base, a stumpf fiddle, and I play the cowbell and SPOONS.
Originally I just picked up a cheap pair of spoons that would come apart after a few songs so, I did a spoon search and came across Heritage Musical Spoons out of Canada, and I am so happy I did! These spoons are not just some novelty, they are a true instrument and they are a blast and so much fun to play. Now, our campground group is all about fun and these spoons are top notch for that, however, if you are a serious musician, these spoons would be outstanding in that capacity. I started with the medium spoons and they were great, so much so that I returned for the large pair, both sets offer a different tone and both are fantastic, one pair is not better than the other, it is based on application and personal preference as well as the “sound’ you are looking for. When I first started using my spoons, it was for a group that jokingly was never supposed to be but has turned into a regularly scheduled event and Heritage Musical Spoons has made the experience truly worthwhile and memorable. Now I use my spoons for my own enjoyment along with the group, thank you Richard and Mathieu for creating something special, you are master craftsman who are a credit to your chosen profession!
With utmost respect,
Kyle in Wisconsin
Fun to play. Easy to get started, but sufficiently challenging (at least for non drummers) to stay interesting while trying to learn more elaborate rhythms. The construction and feel is very high quality. You can make all sorts of sounds and rhythms.
It’s very light and easy to play. What makes the Heritage musical spoon so great is that the pitch changes clearly depending on how much you cover the hole, and that you can do one-finger buzzing. This technique is difficult to perform on other spoons.
I'm having so much fun learning how to play spoons! I got the medium blue. so cute! I think I may get the big size too as it says they are the preferred musician style as you can play faster! I'm excited to see that is true and then I'll have two sets so I can play with a friend!
I'm loving learning to play these, the basics are very easy but I've got a long way to go before I dare play them in front of anyone else! They are excellent quality and I'm so glad they're available in my favourite colour (green!). The large size is a bit on the big size for me (I have very small hands and short fingers), so some techniques are proving difficult to do, so I think I will be adding another smaller set to my percussion collection soon. Nevertheless I'm really enjoying building up rhythms with the set I've got, and I'm so glad I decided to get them.
Very well made high quality wood sound quality as expected from the videos very impressed would highly recommend suggesting folk purchasing these handy musical instruments they bring out positivity and nostalgia vibes the rytham is choreographed well with plentiful notes and outstanding beats to making soul music
Nursery school teacher here, I and the children have a great time with this little instrument. I don't really know if I can trust the children this spoon without breaking it. But we still have fun making music together.
I bought three of the small spoons and was really excited to give them as presents for Christmas. Ultimately, I had to keep one for myself - after playing with the others before I wrapped them! I keep it on my “brain table” by my chair and practice often! I’m looking forward to ordering a green medium size soon! As dementia runs in my family - I’ve been collecting and practicing different ways to improve my own brain health… and learning to play an instrument is a great way to do it! I love the beautifully made Heritage musical spoons and am so inspired by videos I find on YouTube!
The spoon itself is beautiful. It sounded great too! Got one use and my 3 year old grandson unfortunately broke it. Contacted the company and explained what happed. My new spoon should arrive mid January. Amazing customer service!!
You can feel how well made these spoons are when you hold them. Been watching the “how to “videos
Like any instrument you need to practice to get better. I definitely need to practice more :)
My son is an ECE at a daycare and will be taking these to work - children love music and feel they would enjoy these. Will order a small pair soon!
I’m a singer/songwriter. I’ve been doing it all of my life. I love playing spoons when I get a chance. I’ve got a few pairs that I’ve collected over the years. This set of spoons from Heritage is really special. The sound is more organic and less abrasive. They are very comfortable in your hand. I can’t wait for St Patrick’s Day to give them a workout.
Get inspired by these fantastic musical spoon performers!
